Project Parallel

Im Rahmen des Project Parallel werden mit wöchentlichen Fotopaaren die Parallelen im Leben in der amerikanischen Kleinstadt Leavenworth, Kansas, und der Metropole Chicago aufgezeigt – Ähnlichkeiten und Unterschiede in schönen Momentaufnahmen. Ich bin gespannt auf die kommenden Updates.

Project Parallel will use a pair of photos each week to portray the striking differences and the unexpected similarities between rural life in Leavenworth, Kansas and urban life in Chicago, Illinois. Leavenworth is a community of approximately 35,000 people located in the rolling hills of northeastern Kansas. It is situated on the west bank of the Missouri River on the outskirts of the Kansas City metropolitan area. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 23.5 square miles. Chicago is the largest city in the Midwest and the third-most populous city in the United States with more than 2.8 million residents. Today the city’s attractions bring 44.2 million visitors annually and it is home to the second busiest airport in the world, O’Hare. Adjacent to Lake Michigan, Chicago’s city limits expand over 227.2 square miles. The project will last 26 weeks. Each week, a different subject/idea will be presented beginning with the consecutive letter of the alphabet, from A to Z. Assignments will be completed in 7 days and the weekly photo comparisons will be posted each Monday.
